⭑⭑⭑.75

Twin queens Wren and Rose have claimed their crowns . . . but not everyone is happy about witches sitting on Eana's throne.

Cool-headed Rose sets off on a Royal Tour to win over the doubters, but soon finds herself drawn to the Sunless Kingdom. Here secrets are revealed about those closest to her, and Rose finds her loyalties divided.

Meanwhile rebellious Wren steals away to the icy north to rescue their beloved grandmother, Banba. But when she accepts King Alarik's deadly magical bargain in exchange for Banba's freedom, the spell has unexpected - and far-reaching - consequences . . .

As an ancient curse begins to arise from the darkness, the sisters must come together and unite the crown. Their lives - and the future of Eana - depend on it.

Break the ice to free the curse,

Kill one twin to save another . . .

the cursed crowns is the second book in the twin crowns series. the first book was a little bit of a miss for me. but I still had some amazing hope for book two.

book review

one thing I think they should ban such pretty covers, because now I am only buying books that look pretty. and this is top tier of pretty covers. the first book I have read last year so it was a while for me to get back into the back into this story. I also did dnf this book the first time while I tried reading this book. so three months later I thought to give it a second change and read it in a day. the first 200 pages it took me so long to get into, the writing style is something I hard time to get into and it is not a style I have read a lot of book off. then we had 300 pages that i really enjoyed. and then the last 300 pages I had the same problem that I had first. I just wanted to finish the book and be done with it.

I don't know if the problem is the writing style of that it has been written by two authors, I don't know. but it was not the problem of the plot or the characters. I feel that they were really well done. I also loved the main two characters and there struggles. the characters are for me the biggest reason that I am continue the series.

“No matter. I’m a patient man."

"And a fool for love."

"Everyone’s a fool for something, Wren. Why not let it be love?”

Overall the book is okay, not my favorite young adult fantasy book, but still I like to see where the third book will go to and to be done with the series
